Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of political and community issues in a series of tweets posted on May 27, 2026.
In her first post that day, Salinas criticized the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, stating, “When Republicans overturned Roe v. Wade, they delivered a death sentence to women across America. Stories like Emily Waldorf and Amber Nicole Thurman are preventable. I will not stop fighting until we fully restore abortion access.” The tweet underscores her ongoing commitment to advocating for abortion rights.
Later the same day, Salinas commented on economic challenges facing Americans under former President Donald Trump’s policies: “Trump has forced hardworking Americans to cut back on things like gas and groceries because he has made them unaffordable. He is only making life harder for you.”
In a third tweet posted in the evening, Salinas thanked constituents for participating in her town hall event in Salem: “Thank you to everyone who joined me for my town hall in #Salem! It was so great to hear from you about the issues that matter most to you and our neighbors. If you want to receive notifications about future town halls and events near you, subscribe to my email newsletter at https://t.co/1jucfDuZFz.”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously representing her district in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969, she currently resides in Tigard and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
