Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently shared a series of posts on her official Twitter account addressing affordability concerns, community initiatives, and support for military families.
On May 7, Salinas commented on economic challenges faced by constituents: “Well, yes, because life is unaffordable.”
The following day, she highlighted local collaboration at a community event: “I joined our #OR06 neighbors in #Tualatin to celebrate the grand opening of Parque Las Casitas This park is an example of local and federal leaders working together to strengthen our community and create a sense of belonging. ¡Gracias por invitarme!” (May 8).
Later on May 8, Salinas marked Military Spouse Appreciation Day with recognition for military families: “On #MilitarySpouseAppreciationDay, we honor the spouses who support our servicemembers through every relocation, deployment, and sacrifice. Salinas’s recent public statements reflect her legislative focus areas as well as her ongoing engagement with residents of Oregon’s 6th District. She previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 after earning a BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas continues to address both national issues and local developments within her district.
