Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, addressed issues of affordability and infrastructure in a series of posts on January 14, 2026.
In her first post, Salinas criticized former President Trump’s approach to economic relief, stating on January 14: “President Trump really does not care about making your lives more affordable. Here is the thing: I don’t think that affordability is a hoax, and I am going to keep working to find ways to deliver relief to your wallets.”
Later that day, she questioned the value of certain public spending initiatives with another post dated January 14: “And how does adding unnecessary, gaudy signage help Americans afford their next meal???”
In a third post on January 14, Salinas highlighted her efforts regarding local infrastructure: “Oregonians deserve safe roads and bridges. That’s why I testified before the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to advocate for funding for the Newberg-Dundee Bypass. Listen to what I had to say “
Andrea Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. She earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994. Before serving in Congress beginning in 2023, she was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023.
