Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on her social media account between December 15 and 16, 2025.
On December 15, Salinas marked the anniversary of the Bill of Rights by expressing concern about the state of civil liberties in the United States. She wrote, “The Bill of Rights was ratified on this day in 1791. 234 years later, the rights it guarantees have never been more at risk. Under President Trump, we’re watching fundamental rights — like due process, free speech, and freedom of the press — get trampled and brushed aside. For”.
Later that same day, Salinas highlighted December as Impaired Driving Prevention Month and urged caution during holiday celebrations. She posted, “December is Impaired Driving Prevention Month. Too many lives are lost when the decision is made to drive under the influence. With holiday festivities around the corner, make sure to buckle up, follow speed limits, and never drive impaired. On December 16, Salinas criticized congressional Republicans for failing to deliver a health care plan ahead of looming premium increases for Americans. She stated, “Republicans had SO MUCH TIME to come up with a plan to make your health care more accessible and affordable, but they can’t agree on a plan. Now, we are just weeks away from millions of Americans facing skyrocketing premiums. This is on Republicans.”
Andrea Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Before her election to Congress in 2023, she served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 and holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
