Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing climate policy, immigrant rights, and support for organic agriculture.
On December 10, 2025, Salinas raised concerns about the Department of Energy’s stance on climate change. She wrote: “I asked @ENERGY’s top scientist: is climate change a sinister tool to grow government power and shrink human freedom? Dr. Gil said those are not his words. He’s right, his boss said them. The Sec. of Energy is ignoring the climate crisis and his top advisors. Shameful.”
Later that day, she commented on the importance of dignity for all individuals amid immigration policy debates: “Dignity belongs to each and every person, not just the most fortunate. Today is a reminder to turn that truth into action, especially when we see that dignity threatened — as the Trump Administration’s escalating abuses targeting our immigrant communities have shown far too” (December 10, 2025).
On December 11, 2025, Salinas highlighted challenges faced by Oregon’s organic farmers: “Oregon is at the forefront of organic agriculture, yet many growers still struggle to get their products on store shelves. I introduced a bill to invest in our organic growers — supporting local jobs, cutting import reliance, & keeping our farmers leading a resilient organic”.
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after representing her district in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
