Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on May 15, 2026, addressing issues ranging from cost-of-living concerns to environmental protection and public service recognition.
In her first post on May 15, Salinas contrasted her priorities with those of former President Donald Trump, stating: “Trump might not care about lowering your costs, but I CARE.”
Later that day, she marked Endangered Species Day by criticizing the Trump Administration’s environmental policies. She wrote: “Endangered Species Day is a call to action. We cannot allow the Trump Administration’s short-sighted politics to erase protections for the species and the habitats they call home. Today and every day, I stand against efforts to weaken conservation safeguards.”
In a third statement posted on May 15, Salinas recognized Allan Pollock for his nearly two decades of leadership at Cherriots in Salem. She stated: “I spoke on the House floor recognizing Cherriots General Manager Allan Pollock for 19 years of dedicated public service in our district. We thank him for his years of hard work improving public transportation — and for leaving the Salem area stronger and more connected.”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
