On October 20, 2025, Salinas extended greetings to her constituents celebrating Diwali, stating, “Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating in #OR06. Wishing you and your families a joyous and bright festival!”
Later that day, she addressed recent judicial developments concerning federal intervention in Oregon, posting, “My statement on an appeals court allowing for Trump’s deployment of the Oregon National Guard: https://t.co/bofRPiemqI” on October 20, 2025.
On October 21, Salinas commented on the ongoing government shutdown and criticized Republican lawmakers for their stance. She wrote, “21 days since Republicans decided they do not care about you. 21 days since Republicans decided they want you to pay more in health care. 21 days since Republicans refused to come to the negotiating table. It’s been 21 days of their shutdown, and we are running out of time to”.
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of the U.S. Congress since 2023 after previously representing her community in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969, Salinas currently resides in Tigard and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
