Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed several policy issues and local concerns in a series of posts on April 16, 2026.
In her first post, Salinas criticized former President Donald Trump for failing to deliver on his energy policy promises. She wrote, “President Trump promised he’d cut energy bills ‘in half.’ Instead, prices are SOARING
Yet another burdensome cost for the American people, and yet another failed promise from Trump.” (April 16, 2026)
Later that day, Salinas raised questions about the risks associated with prediction markets and pressed a Trump appointee on regulatory protections. She stated, “Prediction markets are getting a lot of attention, but what about the risks involved?
I pressed Trump’s appointee on what they’re doing to protect Americans from the real behavioral health harms.” (April 16, 2026)
Salinas also highlighted her engagement with local government officials. In her third post of the day she said, “It was nice meeting with #Clackamas County officials on Capitol Hill to talk about everything from improving regional transportation to prioritizing addiction recovery services!” (April 16, 2026)
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously representing constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
