Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on her social media account on September 19, 2025. Her posts covered environmental policy changes under the Trump administration and paid tribute to veterans during National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
On September 19, 2025, Salinas criticized a recent move by the Trump administration regarding national forestland protections. She wrote: “President Trump’s Administration’s repeal of the 2001 Roadless Rule endangers nearly 60 million acres of our forestland. This decision is as unpopular as it is shortsighted. Today is the last day to submit your comments during the open period. More than 196,000 people have”.
Later that same day, Salinas welcomed Oregon veterans visiting Washington D.C. as part of the Honor Flight program and reiterated her support for those who served in the armed forces. She stated: “Today, I was honored to welcome veterans from the Oregon Honor Flight program to our nation’s Capitol. I shared with them my commitment to veterans and their families: that I will work for them day in and day out, because it is the least that I can do when they have sacrificed https://t.co/I4q0r6TcL2”.
In another post later that evening marking National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Salinas expressed solidarity with former prisoners of war and those missing in action: “Join me this National POW/MIA Recognition Day in honoring the brave heroes who were prisoners of war and remember those still missing in action. As the daughter of a veteran, I will never forget their sacrifices, and I will keep fighting to bring them home.”
Andrea Salinas has represented Oregon’s 6th Congressional District since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969, she currently resides in Tigard and graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in 1994.
