Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues in a series of tweets posted on January 26 and 27, 2026.

On January 26, Salinas highlighted the service and sacrifice of Alex Pretti, writing, “Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse at the VA. He dedicated his career to serving the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect the rights he was killed for exercising.”

Turning to economic policy on January 27, Salinas criticized former President Trump’s handling of the economy and promoted new legislation introduced by House Agriculture Democrats. She stated, “American farms & families need relief from Trump’s mismanagement of the economy. @HouseAgDems rolled out legislation to deliver where Republicans failed. Our bill provides $29 billion for family farmers and $28 billion for food security.”

Later that day, Salinas informed constituents about upcoming mobile casework hours in Salem. She wrote, “Do you or a loved one need assistance with a federal agency? Join my staff next Thursday in Salem for mobile casework hours! January 29, 2026 11 AM to 1:00 PM PT Center 50+, 2615 Portland Rd NE, Salem”

Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
