Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on December 12, 2025, addressing agricultural policy, health care affordability, and her criticism of former President Donald Trump’s stance on economic issues.
In her first post at 19:30 UTC, Salinas highlighted ongoing legislative efforts regarding agriculture: “Working hard with @repscfigures and my @HouseAgDems colleagues for a Farm Bill that supports American farmers, producers, and hardworking families.”
Later that evening at 20:52 UTC, she addressed health care policy and called for bipartisan cooperation in Congress: “.@HouseDemocrats and I are all in on extending the tax credits that keep health care affordable. Now we just need four Republicans with some common sense to step up and prevent costs from soaring. Who will it be?”
At 21:38 UTC the same day, Salinas criticized former President Trump’s perspective on economic hardship faced by ordinary Americans: “President Trump believes the affordability crisis is a “hoax” because he only hears from the billionaires who keep getting richer under his watch. If he spent one week with the real hardworking families in Oregon, he’d drop that line real fast.”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
