Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on December 4, 2025, to address a range of issues including forest management, health care costs, and environmental conservation.
In her first post of the day, Salinas criticized the Trump Administration for not meeting targets related to forest management. She stated, “I led a letter to the Trump Admin calling out their failure to meet basic goals for clearing dangerous brush in our forests. This work prevents fires and protects communities, but they are FAILING. Hitting only HALF their target is UNACCEPTABLE. I’m pushing for a plan that” (posted December 4, 2025).
Later that evening, Salinas commented on rising health care costs in Oregon and accused former President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers of failing to deliver on promises regarding affordability. She wrote, “Donald Trump and Republicans lied when they promised they would lower the cost of living. 16,000 Oregonians are going to see their health care costs skyrocket, and some may have to choose between filling a prescription and putting food on the table.” (posted December 4, 2025).
On #WorldWildlifeConservationDay, Salinas also highlighted Oregon’s biodiversity and called for renewed efforts toward environmental stewardship: “Oregon is blessed with a rich biodiversity, and its future depends on our stewardship. Today on #WorldWildlifeConservationDay, we celebrate the many species we share our planet with and recommit to protecting the ecosystems that sustain us all.” (posted December 4, 2025).
Andrea Salinas has served as Oregon’s representative in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through early 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
