Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media accounts on January 13 and 14, 2026, addressing government transparency, congressional oversight responsibilities, and maternal healthcare.
On January 13, Salinas called for greater transparency by stating: “Release the FULL files.” Later that day, she addressed concerns regarding congressional oversight and actions by the Trump Administration. She wrote: “Members of Congress have a duty to conduct proper oversight, and the Trump Administration is trying to erode that responsibility. No matter the roadblocks the Admin puts up, I’ll keep holding them accountable.”
On January 14, Salinas highlighted her support for maternal healthcare initiatives. She stated: “Signing on was a no-brainer. No mother should ever be denied the lifesaving care they need during labor. Women everywhere should be able to get the maternal care they need with the dignity they deserve.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously working in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (1994).
