Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon’s 6th District since 2023, recently addressed health care costs and rural community support in a series of posts on her social media account.
On November 18, 2025, Salinas expressed concern about potential increases in health care premiums. She stated, “I hope no one tries to skyrocket the cost of health care premiums for millions of Americans who are already struggling to make ends meet. Oh wait, Republicans are already doing that “.
Later that evening, Salinas turned her attention to challenges faced by rural communities. In a post at 23:52 UTC, she wrote, “Rural communities across the country struggle to access essential resources, from affordable housing to workforce training programs. @RepDavidValadao & I introduced bipartisan legislation that would ensure that federal grants are distributed to rural communities to support their https://t.co/deZO6WuTr9”.
She followed up with another post stating, “Rural communities make tremendous contributions to our national economy — it is time that they have equal access to these federal investments to strengthen their local economies and get their communities ahead. Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
