Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on her official social media account addressing healthcare costs, rural infrastructure funding, and federal oversight under former President Trump.
On December 11, 2025, Salinas criticized Republican lawmakers regarding healthcare policy. She wrote: “As life becomes more expensive under President Trump, one thing the American people certainly can’t afford is more Republican inaction on health care. It’s time for Republicans to finally find some courage and join Democrats in lowering health care costs before premiums”.
Later that day, she highlighted federal investment in rural communities: “For too long, rural communities have been told to make do with less. I’m proud to have secured $1 million for Carlton to replace century-old sewer pipes — marking a critical investment in their public health and infrastructure. On December 12, 2025, Salinas commented on appointments at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) during Trump’s presidency: “Trump is purposely not filling key seats at the CFTC, robbing them of their oversight ability. It’s clear why he’s doing this. It lets him make shady deals, and in the end, this puts everyone’s financial security at risk. https://t.co/Ynz4F3Ymu9”.
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley (earned in 1994).
