Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to highlight Hispanic Heritage Month and address ongoing concerns about health care costs.
On October 15, Salinas marked the end of Hispanic Heritage Month with a call for celebration and community engagement. She posted, “Today is the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month. Over the month, we have honored our rich culture and celebrated our traditions. Join me and @RepGabeVasquez for a fun game of ‘This or That’ in celebration of our Latino heritage!”
The following day, Salinas turned her attention to health care resources for her constituents. On October 16, she wrote, “ATTN #OR06! You can now visit https://t.co/jPJJOxALjb to compare health plans for you and your family. After you view plans, let me know how much your premium is so I can continue to do my job and fight for lower health care costs for every American.”
Later that day, Salinas addressed concerns about rising health insurance premiums. In a post on October 16, she stated, “Millions across the country are checking their mailboxes to find notices with HUGE premium increases thanks to Republicans’ health care crisis. Use the calculator below to see how much more you’d have to pay if Republicans let the tax credits expire.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
