Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her Twitter account on February 4, 2026, to address several issues ranging from immigration enforcement accountability to civil rights and wildfire response.

In a post published at 21:28 UTC, Salinas highlighted legislative efforts to increase oversight of federal immigration agencies. She stated, “If ICE isn’t held accountable, their abuses will continue. @SenJeffMerkley and I introduced a bill so people can sue the government if ICE or CBP infringe on their constitutional rights.”

Later that evening at 22:15 UTC, Salinas commemorated Rosa Parks’ birthday by reflecting on her impact on American society. She wrote, “Rosa Parks was born on this day in 1913. Her courage was a catalyst for momentous change. And to this day, it inspires us all as we continue our pursuit towards a more just and equal nation.”

At 23:56 UTC, Salinas turned attention to environmental policy and disaster management. She described recent congressional action involving NASA’s role in wildfire response: “NASA plays a critical role in developing and deploying technology to improve wildfire response and mitigation. My amendment, which got unanimous support in the Science Committee, directs NASA to provide actionable recommendations so we can improve coordination while keeping”.

Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after representing constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
