Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently used her social media platform to address issues ranging from immigration enforcement in schools to calls for transparency regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case.

On September 3, 2025, Salinas posted about concerns some families face regarding school enrollment due to fears of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity. She wrote, “Instead of picking out school supplies and first-day-of-school outfits, some families are faced with the decision of not enrolling their children in school due to the fear of potential ICE raids there. Here is the bottom line: Backpacks should hold books, not fear.”

Later that day, Salinas commented on efforts to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein. She stated, “I just left a meeting where I heard the heartbreaking and inspirational stories from victims of Jeffrey Epstein. I signed the bipartisan petition to force a vote on releasing the full files. This is about protecting women and holding the rich and powerful accountable. Enough is”.

On September 4, 2025, Salinas made another post referencing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits: “*Ding dong* It’s me, the man responsible for taking SNAP away from your families “.

Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
