Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several community issues through a series of posts on her social media account.
On May 12, 2026, Salinas wrote about the challenges faced by law enforcement officers and their families. She stated, “As the daughter of a police officer, I know the sacrifices our brave officers (and their families) make to keep our communities safe. They have a hard job right now as they try to navigate the lawlessness of ICE and CBP and their duty to keep ALL of our community members safe.”
Later that day, Salinas highlighted housing affordability issues in her district. On May 12, 2026, she posted: “Hardworking families deserve the chance to live in the communities where they work. Projects like the Housing Innovation Village Experience help make that possible. If we want stronger communities, we need to build more quality housing people can actually afford.”
On May 13, 2026, Salinas announced her participation in an event related to environmental policy: “Happening now! Press conference to defend the Roadless Rule. Join me!”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
