Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, representing Oregon’s 6th District since 2023, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing topics ranging from recognition of women in law enforcement to the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and commentary on partisan policy debates.
On September 13, Salinas marked National Police Woman Day with a message reflecting her personal connection to law enforcement. “As a daughter of a law enforcement officer, I am proud to recognize National Police Woman Day. Every day, brave women put on the badge to serve and protect. I am grateful for their sacrifice and will always support our first responders who dedicate their lives to keeping our”, she wrote.
Two days later, on September 15, Salinas acknowledged Hispanic Heritage Month by highlighting her background and commitment to representation. “Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! As a Latina and the daughter of a Mexican immigrant, I am proud to celebrate our rich culture and the vibrant Latino community. That same day, Salinas commented on partisan policies with a post referencing Republican initiatives. “Me when Republicans keep pushing crazy bad policies that prioritize billionaires over hardworking families https://t.co/oneMyVwr19”, she posted.
Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and resides in Tigard. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994 and served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 until joining Congress in 2023.
