Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her social media platform on October 11, 2025, to highlight issues surrounding mental health, homelessness, and LGBTQ+ rights.

Later that day at 01:03 UTC, she addressed housing insecurity with another post: “Everyone deserves a place to call home. On #WorldHomelessnessDay, let’s commit to real solutions like building more affordable housing & investing in wraparound services that address root causes. I joined Portland Rescue Mission’s 24-hour livestream as part of their mission to”.

Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously working in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
