In a post on October 9, 2025, Salinas wrote, “I’m signed on to legislation that would pay our troops during a shutdown. Why won’t Mike Johnson bring the House back to do something?” She questioned the actions of House Speaker Mike Johnson regarding legislative efforts to ensure continued pay for military personnel during a potential government shutdown.
Later the same day, Salinas highlighted her involvement in a community event, stating, “It was fun to be a part of El Tigre Fest in #Tigard, a celebration of #OR06’s Hispanic & Filipino communities! Not just during Hispanic Heritage Month & Filipino American History Month, I’m committed to ensuring our communities have the necessary resources to thrive for” The tweet emphasized her ongoing commitment to supporting Hispanic and Filipino communities in her district.
In a personal note, Salinas also marked a milestone with her spouse, posting, “Happy Anniversary to my husband, Chris “ on October 9, 2025.
Salinas has served in the U.S. Congress since 2023, representing Oregon’s 6th District, after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California, in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
