Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on her social media account on April 6, 2026. Her posts highlighted National Minority Health Month, the Artemis II lunar mission, and concerns about union jobs.
In a post marking National Minority Health Month, Salinas wrote on April 6: “April is National Minority Health Month, and too often, people of color are less likely to report mental health struggles or receive care. I am working to reduce stigma and ensure that everyone can access the culturally relevant care they need. #MentalHealthMonday”
Later that day, she commented on the Artemis II mission: “Today is the big day! Artemis II will fly by the moon This is a historic achievement that takes us one giant leap closer to landing on the moon again! https://t.co/5xHLRmqicC” The Artemis program aims to return humans to the Moon for the first time since Apollo missions.
Addressing labor issues in another post from April 6, Salinas stated: “Trump is slashing good-paying union jobs. I visited Sheet Metal Local 16 SMART and IBEW 48 Electrical Workers Training Center to see the training our union apprentices receive. These are the kind of opportunities Congress should be expanding, not cutting. https://t.co/Xl1VEMlCOW”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
