Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently addressed several national and international issues on her official social media account.
On October 6, 2025, Salinas commented on federal intervention in Oregon, stating, “Oregon does not need nor want the National Guard. President Trump’s gross overreach of power shows that he believes he is above the Constitution. I am glad that a federal judge has granted a temporary restraining order on the Trump Administration from sending the California”.
The following day, marking the anniversary of a significant event in the Middle East, Salinas posted, “Today marks the second anniversary of the tragic October 7th terrorist attacks in Israel. My thoughts continue to be with the victims and their loved ones. The hostages must be returned to their families. It is crucial that the violence in Gaza and Israel comes to a full stop” (October 7, 2025).
On October 7, 2025, Salinas also communicated her office’s ongoing availability to constituents: “We are open and ready to work for you! Know that you can contact my office with any questions, comments, and concerns you may have at any point.”
Salinas has a background in state politics as a former member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 and holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (1994). She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard.
