Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of updates on her social media account regarding federal actions and constituent services.
On October 5, 2025, Salinas issued a statement on recent judicial intervention in federal executive action: “My statement on federal courts pausing President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to Oregon.”
The following day, she announced an outreach event for her constituents: “Today, I will be hosting a telephone town hall at 5:00 PM PST! To hear an update from me, please RSVP by 2 PM PT TODAY to listen in. RSVP by filling out the form https://t.co/LqQD7VRFSe https://t.co/sRmKVDUUgu” (October 6, 2025).
Later that same day, Salinas provided information about government operations during the ongoing shutdown: “It’s day 6 of the government shutdown, and I wanted to see if the @SocialSecurity office was open, because online it said that they were closed. At the time of my visit, the office was open. If you need assistance with Social Security, the physical office is currently open,” (October 6, 2025).
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
