Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed constituents and national issues in a series of posts on October 7, 2025.
In her first post, Salinas thanked participants in a recent event: “Thank you to the nearly 19,000 Oregonians who tuned into my telephone town hall last night! It was great to update you and your neighbors on the work I am doing in Congress and to hear your questions. To receive updates from me, subscribe to my newsletter at” (October 7, 2025).
Later that day, she commented on healthcare policy and partisan politics: “Americans are too smart for Republican shenanigans. I will not give up until you get the health care you need. Watch more from my conversation with @Forbes https://t.co/4hZqEPXunJ” (October 7, 2025).
In her final post of the day, Salinas discussed the effects of a government shutdown on federal employees: “I met with furloughed @AFGENational & @AFSCME government employees who are being impacted by the Republicans’ shutdown. These hardworking public servants deserve stability. I’ll keep supporting them during the middle of this Republican mess, and every day after.” (October 7, 2025).
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
