Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, addressed a range of issues in recent social media posts, including political violence, remembrance of September 11, and environmental advocacy.
On September 10, 2025, Salinas commented on an incident involving Charlie Kirk: “The violent attack against Charlie Kirk is horrifying and disgusting. There is no place for political violence in our country.”
The following day marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks. On September 11, 2025, Salinas wrote: “September 11, 2001, is a day that we will never forget. On the 24th anniversary, we stand in solemn remembrance of the thousands of innocent lives lost and honor the heroism of the first responders who answered the call to danger.”
Later that same day, she highlighted her engagement with climate advocates: “I had the opportunity to talk with folks from Climate Action Campaign Oregon Coalition in DC the other day! Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard at age 53. She previously served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 before joining Congress and holds a BA from University of California, Berkeley (1994).
