Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on September 19, 2025, addressing issues related to political violence and health care policy.
In a post made at 13:39 UTC, Salinas expressed her support for a resolution condemning political violence. She stated, “I’m proud to join Representatives Veasey and Pettersen on this resolution. Political violence is antithetical to our nation’s fundamental principles of free speech and open discourse. We must condemn it, no matter the perpetrator.”
Later that day, at 15:22 UTC, Salinas commented on her decision regarding recent legislative activity: “Read my statement on voting against the partisan Republican spending bill.”
At 19:30 UTC, she elaborated further on her opposition to the proposed spending bill and its implications for health care. Salinas wrote, “I stood alongside @HouseDemocrats to call out President Trump and Republicans for the health care crisis they created.
I will not support a partisan, Republican spending bill that fails to cancel their cuts to health care.
Health care should not be used as a political pawn.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after representing constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
