Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed several key issues on August 27, 2025, through a series of posts on her social media account.

In her first post at 17:26 UTC, Salinas responded to an incident at a Minneapolis school: “I’m horrified and heartbroken by the senseless violence at Annunciation Catholic School today. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the people of Minneapolis.

As a parent, I remember sending my daughter off to school and getting those text messages and automated” (August 27, 2025).

Later that day at 18:37 UTC, she commented on legislative matters affecting American families: “Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill will make Americans hungrier, poorer, and less healthy.

Working families should not be forced to decide whether they should pay rent instead of buying food.

Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously representing her constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
