Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of tweets on September 9, 2025, addressing both local community engagement and recent developments from the Supreme Court.
In her first tweet at 20:10 UTC, Salinas highlighted her participation in a local event, stating: “I had such a good time at Punx in the Park celebrating local music, youth, and community! Attendance was higher than ever. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to build spaces where young people can express themselves and access needed resources.”
Later that evening at 20:55 UTC, Salinas commented on a Supreme Court decision regarding immigration enforcement. She wrote: “SCOTUS ok’d racially profiling Latinos. Yep, you read that right. The Court ruled that federal officers are allowed to make immigration stops based on race and language. This is a dangerous breach of our Constitution and another step toward authoritarianism.”
At 22:54 UTC on the same day, she encouraged public participation by sharing a resource for submitting comments: “To share your public comment, visit https://t.co/EB8j550F9D. (2/2)”
Andrea Salinas has served as the U.S. Representative for Oregon’s newly created 6th District since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
