Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of statements on April 30, 2026, addressing topics ranging from government shutdowns to cultural heritage and tax policy.

Later that afternoon, Salinas recognized National Arab American Heritage Month and highlighted the contributions of Arab Americans in Oregon. Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
