Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, addressed several economic and policy issues affecting her constituents in a series of posts on February 17 and 18, 2026.

In a post dated February 17, Salinas criticized former President Donald Trump’s tax policies, stating: “Families in #OR06 are being crushed by skyrocketing costs, but Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill enacted the LARGEST tax cut in history for billionaires & big corporations. Trump doesn’t care about you or your families — he is only interested in his billionaire buddies.”

The following day, Salinas highlighted her engagement with local agriculture leaders: “I had the opportunity to speak at SEDCOR’s 2026 Ag Breakfast to over 150 folks in the Willamette Valley agriculture industry. Oregon’s farmers are facing real economic challenges. I promised them I’ll keep fighting for real bipartisan solutions that deliver the stability they”

Later on February 18, she raised concerns regarding training practices within federal immigration enforcement agencies: “The American people deserve to know if ICE agents are trained to break the law or if they’re poorly trained. That’s why my @NewDemCoalition colleagues and I sent a letter to ICE, DHS, and CBP demanding answers. NOW.”

Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA degree in 1994.
