Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of statements on July 23, 2025, addressing issues ranging from trade policy to public health and child protection.
In her first post of the day, Salinas commented on U.S. trade policy under former President Trump. She wrote, “Nobody wins in a trade war. Hear more from my interview with @agripulse about how President Trump’s reckless tariff approach is hurting family farms in #OR06 and across the nation https://t.co/k3BGFSJgGW” (July 23, 2025).
Later that evening, Salinas addressed concerns about a recent decision impacting environmental and health policy. She stated, “This dangerous decision will put countless Americans’ health at risk and further the climate crisis. FULL STOP.” (July 23, 2025).
In her final post of the day, Salinas highlighted the issue of child victims of serious crimes and called for accountability among government leaders. She said, “With all of this news, we can’t forget the young children who are victims of horrific, serious crimes. If there are leaders who are—or have served—in government who abused these children, the public deserves to know. Anyone who committed these crimes SHOULD NOT be in power.” (July 23, 2025).
Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Before joining Congress in 2023, she served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023 and holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
