Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of statements on her social media account on February 6, 2026, addressing recent political developments and local education issues.

In one post, Salinas called for elected officials to denounce former President Donald Trump’s actions, stating on February 6: “Every elected official should condemn Trump’s racist video of the Obamas. Its reprehensible. Trump is not a leader. He’s an insecure, insolent child.”

Later that day, she criticized Trump’s fiscal policies with another post dated February 6: “So many of our neighbors are struggling to get by, yet President Trump insists on taking $10 billion from YOU, the taxpayer. INSANE.”

Addressing local matters, Salinas highlighted her meeting with members of the Oregon School Board Association in Washington D.C., posting on February 6: “I met with members of the Oregon School Board Association in D.C. to discuss everything from funding challenges to mental health support. I’ll keep working to strengthen our public schools and ensure that every student gets the resources they need both in and out of the”.

Andrea Salinas was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Before her tenure in Congress beginning in 2023, she served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
