On April 2, 2026, Salinas criticized former President Trump’s tariff policies, stating: “Just last year, Americans had over $1,700 stolen from them because of Trump’s tariffs, and families can gear up to pay even more than that this year. The Supreme Court even agreed that his tariffs were ILLEGAL. I am fighting to reverse these harmful tariffs so that folks can”. Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
