Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on September 22, 2025, addressing issues ranging from food insecurity to seasonal greetings and the recognition of women in business.
In her first post of the day, Salinas criticized a recent decision by the U.S. Department of Agriculture regarding food security data. On September 22, she wrote: “The @USDA has eliminated the annual Household Food Security reports, claiming they were ‘overly politicized’. Their 2023 report revealed that food insecurity remains a significant issue, affecting 18 million households. Ignoring hunger doesn’t make it go away. That’s just”.
Later that day, Salinas marked the beginning of autumn with a message to her constituents: “Happy first day of Fall #OR06! I’m wishing you and your families a cozy, fun-filled season ahead https://t.co/9fa0IUNhMf” (September 22).
She also recognized American Business Women’s Day with another post: “Today is American Business Women’s Day — a day to celebrate the many contributions of women in our workforce. It’s a reminder that when women succeed, our whole country succeeds. Learn more about the holiday and some trailblazing businesswomen https://t.co/6CcLaqeto3” (September 22).
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously representing her community in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
