On May 5, 2026, Salinas announced funding for rural education, stating: “BIG NEWS: I delivered $850,000 to our rural students in Sheridan. Andrea Salinas has served as the U.S. Representative for Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
