Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her Twitter account on January 23, 2026, to inform constituents about upcoming events and reflect on voting rights.
In a post from January 23, Salinas announced an opportunity for residents to seek assistance with federal agencies: “Hey #OR06 My staff will be hosting an in-person casework hour in Salem on Thursday, January 29, from 11 am to 1 pm PT to assist you with any questions you have about navigating a federal agency. No RSVP necessary! More info here https://t.co/M6jv4AFMgr”.
Later that day, she reminded followers of another event: ” REMINDER: Join me next Monday for a telephone town hall to receive an update on the work that I am doing for you and your neighbors! Jan 26, 2026 5:00 PM PT RSVP using the link below https://t.co/QtiZ0amIaE” (January 23).
Salinas also marked the anniversary of a significant moment in U.S. history. On January 23 she posted: “On this day in 1964, the 24th Amendment was ratified, eliminating the poll tax. The right to vote is sacred & shouldn’t depend on your wallet. That reminder matters as we still aim to protect fair access to the ballot box for all. Read about my bill to ensure all eligible”.
Andrea Salinas has served Oregon’s newly created sixth congressional district since her election in 2022 and began her term in Congress in 2023. Before joining Congress, she served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through early 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard, Salinas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
