Congresswoman Andrea Salinas announced on her Twitter account a series of initiatives and concerns, including federal funding for local infrastructure, economic challenges facing Americans, and wage inequality affecting Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women.
On April 8, 2026, Salinas posted: “I secured $1 MILLION in federal funding to extend Dallas’ sewer system. This money will help unlock more than 200 acres for housing and economic development! I called Dallas Mayor Rich Slack to give the exciting news https://t.co/pcimPZqVZx”.
Later that same day, she expressed concern about retirement savings trends under the Trump administration: “A record number of Americans are raiding their 401(k)s just to get by. That’s not normal. Under Trump, families can’t even afford basics, let alone save for retirement. https://t.co/c9wuu21NET”.
On April 9, Salinas highlighted ongoing wage disparities impacting specific communities: “Today is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Equal Pay Day — a day to call attention to the continued wage inequality that AANHPI women face. As a member of @DemWomenCaucus and @CAPAC, I’m committed to closing the pay gap and ensuring all Americans are paid”.
Andrea Salinas has served in the U.S. Congress representing Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
