Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of statements on May 18, 2026, addressing national and local issues as well as recognizing emergency medical services personnel.
In a post made at 19:58 UTC, Salinas criticized former President Trump’s policies, stating “President Trump is only making life harder and more costly for hardworking families.”
Later that day at 21:25 UTC, she announced federal funding for infrastructure improvements in Keizer: “I just brought $850,000 home to the City of Keizer so they can build a new sidewalk, keeping children walking to school and pedestrians off a busy road. This is a huge WIN”
At 22:50 UTC on the same day, Salinas acknowledged first responders during National Emergency Medical Services Week. She wrote “During National Emergency Medical Services Week, we recognize the lifesaving work of the first responders who bravely serve our communities every day of the year. We thank you for your unwavering commitment, courage, and dedication to keeping us safe.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
