Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, posted a series of messages on December 8, 2025, addressing historical remembrance, public safety, and local infrastructure.
In her first post of the day, Salinas marked the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. She wrote: “On this day in 1941 — ‘a date which will live in infamy’ — Pearl Harbor was attacked. 84 years later, we honor the unwavering courage of those who fought and remember all those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.” (December 8, 2025)
Later that afternoon, she highlighted concerns about drunk driving during the holiday season. In an evening post on December 8, Salinas announced funding for rural infrastructure improvements: “I am proud to have secured $1,000,000 for the City of Carlton to update their sewer infrastructure. For too long, rural communities have been told to make do with less. That’s why, when House Republicans stripped funding for projects like this earlier this year, I fought to” (December 8, 2025)
Andrea Salinas has a background in state politics prior to her congressional tenure; she served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
