Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s Sixth District in the U.S. House of Representatives, has publicly addressed the ongoing developments surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case in a series of tweets posted on July 23, 2025. Salinas stated that the controversy is interfering with her legislative responsibilities and impacting her ability to serve her constituents.
In her initial post, Salinas wrote: “My job is to serve the people of Oregon’s Sixth District. I wouldn’t normally weigh in on the Jeffrey Epstein case, but things have gone too far. It’s impacting the work I was sent to Washington, D.C., to do. Here’s what I have to say: (1/6)” (July 23, 2025).
She continued by expressing concerns about congressional procedures related to the case: “Instead of holding a vote on releasing the Epstein case, Mike Johnson is sending Congress home for a month. He’s afraid of letting us do our jobs. I have constituents to serve, and Mike Johnson is preventing me from that. That’s wrong. (4/6)” (July 23, 2025).
Addressing broader issues of transparency and accountability, Salinas also stated: “At the end of the day, the victims deserve peace, the abusers deserve justice, and the public deserves answers.
One way or another, this Administration has lied to the American people about what information exists and who has it. People deserve transparency. (3/6)” (July 23, 2025).
Andrea Salinas has served as U.S. Representative for Oregon’s Sixth District since 2023 after previously serving in Oregon’s House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard at age 53. Salinas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC Berkeley in 1994.
The statements come amid heightened attention toward transparency regarding high-profile cases such as that involving Jeffrey Epstein and reflect ongoing debates over Congressional priorities and procedural decisions.
