Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who has represented Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently used her social media platform to address economic and energy issues, as well as highlight local agricultural achievements.

On August 21, 2025, Salinas criticized recent actions by President Trump and congressional Republicans regarding consumer costs. She wrote, “President Trump & Republicans are making it harder to afford everyday expenses. The bottom line is: the Big, Ugly Bill makes groceries, health care, & utilities more expensive. I’m working to put a FULL STOP to this & ensure that you & your families can lead comfortable,” in a post on X.

Later that day, she commented on federal energy policy changes under the Trump administration. In a tweet dated August 21, 2025, Salinas stated, “Energy demand is skyrocketing, yet the Trump Admin is cancelling affordable and renewable energy projects. The result? Everybody’s bills go up, and American families are left in the dark.”

In another post on August 21, 2025, Salinas highlighted Oregon’s leadership in agriculture after visiting Berger International in Yamhill County. She tweeted: “Did you know Oregon leads the nation in both hazelnut and grass seed production? I visited Berger International, which grows both right here in #Yamhill County. It was great to see their operations firsthand and to discuss how we can make sure Oregon’s growers lead for decades”.

Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after previously holding office in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in 1994.
