Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account criticizing House Speaker Mike Johnson and Republican legislative efforts.
On July 23, 2025, Salinas wrote: “If Mike Johnson wanted to do his job, he would let Congress vote. If Mike Johnson cared about victims of abuse, he wouldn’t cut funding for domestic violence services. If Mike Johnson were concerned about the Epstein case, he would support transparency. (5/6)”
In a follow-up post on the same day, she added: “Instead, Mike Johnson is more concerned about protecting Trump, elites, and serial abusers than doing the job he was sent to D.C. to do. When Mike Johnson won’t step up, Democrats will. (6/6)”
On July 24, 2025, Salinas addressed recent Republican legislation: “Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill is a legislative Frankenstein’s monster — a patchwork of policy nightmares sewn into one monstrosity of a bill. Here are 12 policies that Republicans jammed into their bill under the radar. Read more in my article on the @NewDemCoalition Substack “
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
