Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media account criticizing policies under former President Donald Trump and raising concerns about their impact on Americans.
On March 18, 2026, Salinas referenced comments from a Trump advisor regarding consumer prices: “A top Trump advisor said that prices for consumers are the ‘last of our concerns.’ Tell that to the mom who is rationing lunch meat for her kids. Tell that to seniors who are skipping lifesaving medications. Tell that to the Americans who are making IMPOSSIBLE decisions because”.
The following day, Salinas addressed issues facing veterans seeking mental health care through the Department of Veterans Affairs: “There are 500 fewer VA psychologists and psychiatrists than a year ago. Wait times are stretching to 60 days. Therapists are quitting. Veterans are giving up. That’s not reform. That’s abandonment. Our veterans deserve better.”
Later on March 19, she continued her criticism of Trump’s presidency: “What is going on right now??? President Trump is only making life WORSE and even more EXPENSIVE. Even his own voters are sick of it.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously representing constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard at age 53. Salinas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
