Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, used her social media account on November 4, 2025, to address concerns about the distribution of SNAP benefits and to emphasize the importance of voting rights.
In a post made at 18:31 UTC, Salinas criticized former President Donald Trump’s administration for its handling of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding. She wrote, “Trump is choosing to starve children despite a federal court ordering his Administration to distribute SNAP funding. It’s cruel and lawless, just like the rest of his Administration’s actions.”
Later that day at 20:09 UTC, Salinas highlighted Election Day and reiterated her commitment to voting rights by stating, “It’s Election Day! The right to vote is sacred, and I’ll keep fighting to ensure every Oregonian can make their voice heard.”
At 20:54 UTC on the same day, she returned to the issue of SNAP benefits with another post: “Donald Trump is illegally withholding SNAP benefits from millions of Americans. I’m standing with @HouseDemocrats to demand Republicans keep America fed.”
Andrea Salinas has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after representing constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
