Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media addressing policy concerns and advocacy efforts on February 16 and 17, 2026.
In a post on Presidents Day, Salinas wrote: “Today is #PresidentsDay, and we have a President who is trying to make life worse and more difficult for YOU. I will not stop fighting to reverse Trump’s policies, which have hurt hardworking families, who are already struggling to afford everything from child care to groceries” (February 16, 2026).
Later that day, she highlighted disparities in mental health among different racial groups: “Black adults are more likely than White adults to report symptoms of emotional distress. Know that I am committed to expanding access to culturally relevant mental health care for everyone who needs it. #MentalHealthMonday Visit the link for more Black mental health resources” (February 16, 2026).
On February 17, Salinas addressed immigration issues following an event at the State Capitol: “As we saw at our State Capitol today, immigrants are our coworkers, neighbors, and friends. They deserve a fair shot at a better life — without being terrorized by the Trump Administration. #DayWithoutAnImmigrant https://t.co/HvlyzBy0hj” (February 17, 2026).
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after representing her constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
