Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing national security concerns and local disaster preparedness.
On April 7, 2026, Salinas condemned recent remarks attributed to former President Donald Trump, writing: “There are no words I can put into a social media post to properly condemn how evil and deranged this is. Trump is threatening that ‘a whole civilization will die tonight.’ That’s a war crime. Full stop. ALL Members of Congress, including Republicans who control all chambers”.
Later that day, Salinas shared information about an upcoming event for rural communities in Oregon: “ATTN@OregonOEM is hosting a free, two-part educational webinar to help our rural communities prepare and respond to natural disasters. In another post on April 7, 2026, she criticized the priorities outlined in the Trump Administration’s new budget proposal: “Trump said the government should fund his war instead of child care or health care. The Trump Administration’s new budget only shows just how disconnected Republicans are from the needs of everyday Americans.”
Andrea Salinas has served in Congress since 2023 after previously representing her constituents in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently residing in Tigard at age 53, Salinas earned her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
