Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to address local collaboration, national policy debates, and an incident involving a colleague’s remarks.
On May 20, 2026, Salinas shared news of her meeting with Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty: “It was great to welcome #Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty back to Capitol Hill! We discussed the city’s priorities and how I can be a partner at the federal level. We will continue working together to make life better for folks in Beaverton and across #OR06.”
The following day, on May 21, Salinas commented on legislative priorities regarding immigration enforcement funding: “I proudly stood alongside my @HouseDemocrats and @SenateDems colleagues to make it clear to our Republican colleagues that we want solutions to lower costs, not to fund Trump’s out-of-control ICE agents”
Later that same day, she addressed a tweet by Rep. Nancy Mace: “Rep. Mace’s racist tweet about my colleagues is horrific. We are a nation of immigrants. I’m the daughter of a Mexican immigrant. The story of someone coming to our country and caring deeply about it enough to run for Congress (and be willing to put up with Nancy Mace) is a”
Andrea Salinas has represented Oregon’s 6th District since 2023 after serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 through 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
