Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, who represents Oregon’s 6th District in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted her engagement with local students and a new infrastructure investment through a series of posts on her social media account.
On June 2, 2026, Salinas posted about her meeting with student leaders and advocates from Salem to discuss mental health issues. She wrote, “I met with student leaders and advocates from Salem to talk about an issue that impacts all of us — mental health. They shared how their peers are being affected by mental health, and we discussed ways that we can put an end to this crisis. (1/2)”
In a follow-up post on the same day, Salinas continued the discussion, referencing concerns about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and its impact on mental health in Oregon’s 6th District. She stated, “We also talked about how ICE is impacting mental health here in #OR06, and they shared with me their campaign to create a more welcoming environment. I am so proud of these students! Later that evening, Salinas announced federal funding for a regional safety initiative: “I secured $850,000 for the Oregon 99W Corridor Safety Project! This funding will improve safety for vehicles on the road and even save lives. Hear me deliver the good news to the Yamhill County Parkway Committee Chair, Dave Haugeberg.”
Andrea Salinas has represented Oregon’s 6th District in Congress since 2023 after serving in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. She was born in San Mateo, California in 1969 and currently resides in Tigard. Salinas earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1994.
